If you are determined to pursue medical after your + 2, you must seek admission to the renowned medical colleges and institutes. And All India Pre-Medical Dental Entrance Test, (AIPMT) is one such exam through which one can get admission to some of the best medical colleges in India. This Pre-medical exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi. All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) generally in the month of May. This is one of the main Pre-medical exams of India. It is conducted by the CBSE, New Delhi. There are 1600 seats. Usually, candidates upto 2800 rank get selected.
The announcement for All India Pre-medical Examination usually comes in October-November and tests are conducted in March or April.
The qualifying examinations are listed below:
The Higher / Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 with English language and electives Physics, Chemistry, Biology (including practical tests) and Mathematics.
The Intermediate / Pre-degree examination in Science of an Indian University / Board or other recognised examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (including practical’s) and English.
The Pre-professional / Pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (including practical tests) and English after passing the Higher Secondary Examination or the Pre-University or an equivalent examination.
The first-year of an under-graduate course in Physics, Chemistry or Biology (including practical tests) from a recognized University with the candidate having passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as subjects.
B.Sc. examination of an Indian University with not less than two of the subjects, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany, Zoology) as electives. The candidate should have passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
Examinations equivalent in scope and standard to the Intermediate science examination of an Indian University / Board with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (including practical tests) and English.
The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the qualifying examination and passed these subjects individually as well.
Indian nationals educated abroad must have passed the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English up to the 12th standard level with 50% marks. However, the equivalency will be determined according to the regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University.
Students appearing for the qualifying examination in the year of the competitive examination can seek provisional admission till the first round of allotment by personal appearance.

The examination fee is paid through a Demand Draft for Rs.850/- for General/OBC Category and Rs.500/- for SC/ST Category drawn in favor of the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi, payable at Delhi.
The draft has to be furnished with a Self Addressed Envelope of size 12" x 10".
Application also could be made online by Credit card, or Through Demand Draft in favor of the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi drawn on any Nationalized Bank payable at Delhi. Application Fee is Rs.800/- for General/OBC Category Candidates and Rs.450/- for SC/ST Category Candidates.
In the Preliminary Examination you have to attend a single paper of 200 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
The duration of paper is of 3 hours. After qualifying in the Preliminary Examination, you appear for the AIPMT 2010 Final Exam.
The Final Examination would consist of two papers each of 2 hours duration. Paper-1 - Physics and Chemistry. Paper-2 - Biology (Botany and Zoology).
You can opt for either English or Hindi question paper.
